REVIEWS:
As we understand it, Mytron took it upon himself to rework two tracks from Calypso Records’ ‘Take Away’ series. After hearing the results, label bosses Thomass Jackson and Inigo Vontier were so impressed, they decided to release the music themselves. It’s not difficult to hear why. Top work once more from Mytron, both of his versions are excellent.

It falls to London-based Mytron to bring the curtain down with the scuzzy disco of "You Only Live Once". As you'd expect from a man who spends his fair share of studio time with In Flagranti's Sasa, this wonky groove has all the VHS scuzz, cut and paste roughness and full scale sleaze of a vintage Codek release. This is music for the dingier disco.

Their 'Ceremony' EP further expands their sound by incorporating various influences from around the world into a collection of unique cuts filled with intricate rhythms, emotive motifs and infectious grooves. (Mixmag)
A haunting Middle Eastern melody wafts through this slo-mo jam from the London and Paris-based duo. (Resident Advisor)
A follow-up EP that has broad-spectrum appeal on one of our most favourite labels when it comes to unpredictable dance floor gems. (Lodown Magazine)
One part Caribbean island fruit blend, one part Mood Hut groove, one part Ramzi deepness. These guys got it. (Worldwide FM)
An EP of rootsy, tropical disco vibes and oddball, primitive-sounding machine funk. There’s something for most tastes, and the emphasis is on fun throughout. (DJ Mag)
Mytron creates finely-fused psychedelic journeys through groove, pausing for stopovers in rainforest rhythm, intergalactic electronica and otherworldly proto house. With his debut album out now on Multi Culti and contributions to Invisible Inc, Calypso, XXX, Kalahari Oyster Cult, LYO, Codek Records and Bongo Joe, Mytron has carved out a name for himself in a carefully-curated left-field quadrant of the indie-dance galaxy. His tunes have been heard in sets by Sean Johnston, Richard Sen, Logan Fisher and Soulwax to name a few.
Mytron was born in Poland, raised in Germany, then Holland, and has been living in London for more than a decade. His releases, for Bongo Joe, Codek, XXX, Multi Culti and Calypso herald a similarly nomadic spirit.
A multi-instrumentalist who landed in London as synthesizers were taking centre stage again, inspiring his own first dancefloor output, he soon became immersed in Peckham’s club scene as a DJ. These influences and more refract into a hardware-driven spectrum of sound, stretching from the playfully percussive and sun-baked to darkly funky electronics.
Past output as Mytron & Ofofo, a partnership with In Flagranti’s Sasa Crnobrnja, saw the duo hit European venues such as Lithuania’s Opium Club, Barcelona's Razzmatazz and Zurich's Lethargy festival. A highly regarded collaboration album with Zongamin saw the light of day in early 2025 alongside joint efforts with Balam and Dreems.
Whether he's DJ'ing or performing his hardware live set, it's a chuggy, druggy, fuggy ride through tweaking acid, raw funk and tripped-out melodies – setting the scene for an inevitable soaring segue into hazy transcendence.
